Sylas's Bar Mitzvah Project
I have decided to collect books for Operation Paperback. I love to read, and I was excited to find this non-profit organization that collects paperback books for active-duty troops and military veterans. I am asking for donations of books to ship to troops and veterans, and/or monetary donations to pay for the shipping. There will be a bin in the synagogue lobby where you can drop off books or you can send a check to Temple Beth Sholom (5995 N Wickham Road, Melbourne, FL 32940) with a note indicating it is for Operation Paperback shipping. If you are coming to celebrate with us in person in January, here is some helpful travel information: We are in Viera, FL, located on the central east coast of Florida. We are 30 minutes south of Kennedy Space Center and just minutes from several beautiful beaches. If you are flying in, Orlando-Melbourne International Airport is located in the heart of Melbourne. Orlando International Airport is 50 minutes away and Orlando-Sanford International Airport, located in Sanford, FL, is about an hour away.
